Thursday Thirteen #2

Thirteen things I miss about being single

1·I never woke up to anybody crying.
2·When I stayed up late, nobody gave me grief about it.
3·I didn't have to stock the fridge with food I can't eat.
4·My car was always waiting for me, whenever I wanted to drive it.
5·I could read whole books uninterrupted (before 10:00 at night).
6·Bathroom visits were also uninterrupted.
7·Diaper changes were an optional part of life.
8·I never had to watch Stargate-SG1, Stargate Atlantis, or FarScape.
9·I wasn't expected to remember where anyone but me had left stuff.
10·The "disposable"part was a much higher percentage of my income.
11·I was blissfully ignorant of men's grooming rituals.
12·I could plan my wedding in detail with my imaginary unlimited budget.
13·My extra pillows never stole the covers.

  3. Amy,

It's not that I don't like being married. Some days are just longer and crazier than others and I start to get nostalgic...

    Cheysuli,

Absolutely! When I was single, I could have a cat. Now I can't because my husband is allergic. So sad.

  6. I'm with you on the bathroom thing! Just tonight my husband and my 2 yr old son were gathered right outside the bathroom door the whole time I was in there! One moment alone, please! Just one! :)

  7. Nice list...but I bet you can come up with a lot of reasons why being single isn't all it's cracked up to be, too.

That being said, I still love being single... :)

    Happy TT!
PS: Us men have grooming rituals??? lol

  9. Bubba,

Well, I can't personally speak for your grooming rituals... :) But, yeah, men have them, and, let me tell you, some of 'em are weird!

    Jeff,

Thankful for FarScape, huh? And you used to be a pro wrestler--how interesting! I hear Nacho Libre is coming out on DVD soon; maybe you can relive your glory days. :)

  11. I am experiencing "singleness" again, since my husband just left me.

Hopefully, after the "sadness," I'll start enjoying it again. This time, I have my precious son. :)

  12. Chelle Y,

I'm so sorry you are single after such circumstances. I'm glad you are able to see your son as a blessing, even when times get rough.

Since I became a mom, I've learned to have incredible respect for single mothers. You manage to make life happen in a way I have trouble even imagining.

    God's richest blessings upon you!
